press-play.eu 0 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Have no clue on what's happening, advise greatly appreciated : Sub all of a sudden had garbled playing, worse when fumbling w/ the XLR connector. Then played OK for a few weeks, until it blew a fuse Replaced the fuse and it played OK again for a few weeks Then it wouldn't recognize an input signal and auto power-on failed, except when a high input signal was entered. Finally it won't play at low volumes, has a garbled sound at mid-level volume and kick intermittently at high-volume inputs. No visible physical damage ... any idea's ?
wrf 5,021 Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Likely failed electrolytic caps. Send it to Bill at http://www.flannerysvintageaudio.com/ You can just send him the amp. I just finished recaping a True sub. Not an experience I want to repeat. Bill does good work. Tell him thecarversite sent you. 1
