what program or method do you use to keep up/track your dvd collection?

just like the title says. whats the best,easiest way to keep up with the dvds you have ?  do you use some kind of database program or did you come up with one of your own?thanks for any ideas

Good question; personally, back when I used a database program who's name escapes me I wrote my own.  Now that I've switched to Access I use:  http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT102144001033.aspx

there's one there for music and one for DVD's.

 

you can probably find freeware programs too.

Right now, it's kinda haphazard (somewhat alphabetical), but hope to one day have them alphabetical by genre on racks, with a hard copy for reference....

i found a freeware program called "ant movie catalog". it's ok, better than nothing

I don't use a program though with over 5,000 "pieces" I probably should.

(At my age ones memory changes from a steel cage to a plastic colander...)

Currently most of my vinyl and tape collections are stored away .

Everything readily available is stored in racks, alphabetically, by genre.
