Distortion

After a couple hours of use, the Power Meter maxes out and turns yellow.   At that point, the sound is so distorted that it cannot be listened to.  This seems to only happen when using the turntable.   I am the original owner and had the unit serviced by Deltronics in Chicago in 2000.  Would appreciate any insight.  Thx/Regards-Barry

Difficult to say what might be going on.  I suggest more testing to help isolate the problem.  

 

I would disconnect everything except the speakers and an antenna.  Then set the tuner to a strong station and see if the problem occurs again.

 

If the unit is operating OK, then proceed with adding various sources.  First a CD player.  If everything is good, then add the turn table.  

 

Hopefully this process will help identify the fault.  It could be the receiver, cables or one of your source units.
