Audioquest 8 Posted October 10, 2010 Author Posted October 10, 2010 weitrhino is correct. The line of 4 mids should be on the inside' date=' closest to the opposite speaker. The other pair of mids is responsible for the "dimensional array" effect. Speaking of the dimensional array", do you have the interconnect cable that runs from one speaker to the other? [/quote'] Yes, the factory IC cable is installed. On the rear of each speaker is marked Right and Left so they are in the correct placement. As soon as I get a long HDMI, I'll move things around and try some different placements including trying the long wall.
jldeni 439 Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Congrats on the acquisition. My cave is approximately the same size as your room - I agree with trying to set it up along the long wall if possible. It may seem awkward, but for me the sound stage much improved over the alternate set up. Also, to break up any unwanted accoustic reflections I got my hands on some office cubicle dividers which I framed in 1x3 pine and mounted on the other long wall. Of course, I didn't have dry wall - which is very dense. Mine is T-111 siding.
