hey Nahash, just jumped the lamp fuse with a piece of 12 gauge wire soldered in place. I just bypassed some sort of overload protection on the speakers. when the lamp fuse heats up, current through the speakers drops and the capacitor across the lamp fuse acts as some sort of voltage doubler, more voltage less current, the setup was a safeguard to prevent people from blowing the tweeters. from the input, to the lamp fuse with the capacitor across it, to the crossover (tweeter and low pass circuits parallel to eachother). the new fuses are actually a jbl part, they're rated at 200 watts so it has the same spec's as the bose... could not find a bose part online. hopefully it won't degrade the sound. also ordered new capacitors for the cross over, some aeon and also some sulen caps, 2.4 mf 400volts form parts connexion, they're cheap so I'll swap until I find the ones that work best. 20 year old film caps are due for replacement if the performance is better with the lamp fuses bypassed, then I'll reinstall the jumper wiring.....
