  1. *Male Reasoning*

This is a conversation between a man and a woman.
Please note that she asked five or six questions, which he answered quite
simply, but then she was speechless after answering only one question.

    Woman:  “Do you drink beer?”
    Man:  “Yes.”

Woman:  “How many beers a day?”
    Man:  “Usually about three.”

Woman:  “How much do you pay per beer?”
Man:  “Five dollars, which includes a tip.”  (This is where it gets scary!)

Woman:  “And how long have you been drinking?”
Man:  “About 20 years, I suppose.”

Woman:  “So a beer costs $5 and you have three beers a day, which puts
your spending each month at $450.  In one year that would be approximately
    $5,400, correct?”
    Man:  “Correct.”

Woman:  “If in one year you spend $5,400, not accounting for inflation,
the past twenty years puts your spending at $108,000, correct?”
    Man:  “Correct.”

Woman:  “Do you know that if you didn’t drink so much beer, that money
could have been put in a step-up interest savings account and, after
accounting for compound interest for the past 20 years, you could’ve by now
    bought an airplane?”

    Man:  “Do you drink beer?”
    Woman:  “No.”

    Man:  “Where’s your airplane?”

  2. If I showed you guys a picture of my comic collection you'd probably realize why I'm in so much debt LOL!!!!

The word "Investment" comes to mind. emwink.gif

Well that's been my hope for some time now Gene.  I've been keeping an eye on comic prices for a while and they seem to be much like guns in regards to their value.......they steadily keep climbing msp_thumbup.gif!!!  I've been meaning to go back thru my comics and start selling off some of the randoms and duplicates I have so I can chip away at my Everest of debt, but I need to set aside a solid 2-3 days that I can go thru them all.......sorting thru 20+ short boxes FULL of comics can eat up some time eusa_doh.gif happy0009.gif!!!

C'mon man, they're just comic books.  It's not like a collection of porno mags or something.  Big GrinCool

Linking to trailers for *those* would certainly increase traffic to the site...

To keep things topical, how many superheroes/villains use sound or hearing as a power? Daredevil comes to mind.

Banshee from the X-men comes to mind.....Superman obviously has enhanced hearing/sight/pretty much everything else.

  4. For the TFM-45 for instance, he could increase the phase capacitor from 0.33uF to 0.39uF. I haven't tried this myself, but I've been curious to measure it.  I discovered a couple of small things that can be done to a TFM-45/M4.0t/M1.0t to help reduce noise (very well actually), but it has nothing to do with the regulator!

It sounds like you have some pretty good ideas for some beneficial mods to the 45 Greg party.gif!  You should have let me known ahead of time and I would have let you taken all the time you wanted and let my 45 be the guinea pig happy0009.gif LOL!!!
  5. WOW.......I really must have been gone a while to have missed this WHOLE THREAD eusa_doh.gif LOL!!!  As Mark stated earlier, I was lucky enough to have him let me audition his m500t mkII a while back.

The mkII is a VERY musical sounding amp that provided substantial power to my speakers.  I was only REALLY able to audition it 1 day while my wife was out of town, but I'm pretty sure my neighbors could hear EVERYTHING that I was listening to party.gif!!!  I was running it through my Integra DTR-7.8 and was able to literally crank the volume on it to the MAX, and it sounded INCREDIBLE......tight bass with the full range of mids and highs and NOTHING sounding harsh or even hinting at distortion.  Now granted my speakers are Def Techs which are SUPER easy to drive with an 8ohm rating, but the mkII really brought them to life.  I played a wide variety of music from heavy metal to electronica to hip-hop.......I ultimately ended up trying to find songs with the most bass to really push the amp.  ALL the music I played sounded absolutely flawless without any audible distortion and the highs were incredibly clear and precise with the lows very tight and solid.  Out of all the music I was never able to get the meters to get past the 300 watt mark or into the red zone.......but after pushing the amp at max volume (with pauses between finding different songs) for about ~45 minutes she ended up going into thermal protection.

I haven't had a chance to get my 45 hooked back up yet to give it a listen, but I'm hoping that I'll be able to get around to it soon (after my blue LED's are in and I get the needles painted) eusa_dance.gif!  As soon as I do I'll be pushing it just as hard (probably HARDER since it's my own emwink.gif) and seeing how long it can handle the abuse party.gif LOL!!!  I'll let you all know what my thoughts are after I give her a good listening......Cheers embeer.gif

I want to look into the tfm 45 as Jim suggested, and to fuel the occd.  Not that I am unhappy with my 1.5, I am very pleased with it ability.

Keep your eye out on craigslist......search ALL of the cities at once using sites like onecraigs or my-craigs-finder.  I've seen a few in the last couple months in the $300-$450 range........and 9/10 times the people are willing to ship if you just ask emwink.gif!!!  There was one that was posted in Houston for only $250 6 days ago.......needless to say it went QUICK LOL!!!

This guy is located in Oklahoma and has a TFM-45 with a CT-28v for $500......HERE

  7. I have a 1.5t undergoing testing with new devices being installed gradually ( benchmark, install re-benchmark) that is in process looking for the biggest bang for the buck! When I'm finally completed everything will be new.

Just been too busy at work to finish..

    Hey Jim,
I spoke to Greg earlier today and he mentioned that you had been making some pretty good innovations to the m-1.5t to help with the 'harshness' that everyone always brings up......I'd be interested to hear how it turns out14.gif!!!  I actually have an m-1.5t that's been collecting dust for about 3 years now.....are you planning on taking any new projects on after you finish your own 1.5t & work cools down a little?

I remember when they adopted the metric system.....I was 17....it was tough enough for me, my parents
were really screwed. For a long time we thought in both Km and miles, F and C......now its metric all the way.

Except for building materials and football.....still imperial....weird eh?
