About Me
•Born in Worthington Ohio 1/29/49; family moved to a great small (93 acre) farm in Sunbury Ohio when I was ~4-5. Horses, pigs, sheep, corn, soybeans, etc.; dad was a "weekend farmer". Fishing/swimming holes; greatest summers. Introduced to hi-fi, sci-fi, and model airplanes/rockets by older brother of a "trio" of German family brothers close to my age who lived on another "non-farmer" spread about a mile away. This led to (eventually) my career in Aerospace.
•Graduated from The Ohio State University with BS (6/72) and MS (12/73) degrees in the field of Aeronautical/Astronautical Engineering (AAE).
•Moved to CA in ’74 to work for Rockwell International on the NASA Space Shuttle program; then in ’85 went to Northrop Electronics in Hawthorn CA and worked on the USAF B2 Bomber Navigation system; then in ’87 to McDonnell Douglas where I worked on the HEDI (High Endo-atmospheric Defense Interceptor) “Star Wars” related program; and then the NASA Space Station program; then circa ’97 after Boeing purchased both Rockwell Space Division and McDonnell Douglas, I continued on there at this Huntington Beach, CA facility on the USAF X-37 “Space Plane” program; then the NASA Space Launch System (SLS) new “Moon Rocket” program and then retired from Boeing on that program in 2014.
