As a kid I had HO race cars, Erector Sets, basic electronics kits, Lincoln Logs and M-80's when we could find them.  Got the audio bug in high school.  First legit hi-fi was Marantz 2220B, Dual 1228, and crappy Utah 3 ways.  Went to tech school hoping to get job in audio.  No jobs in audio at graduation.  Took a job at a transformer shop in late 70's.  A few jobs later went to work at pro sound company as a bench tech.  Got real good at repairing Phase Linear 400's.  Found more stable job at a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) manufacturer.  Have been there for more than 35 years.  Recognized subject matter expert on critical power systems for power generation (fossil, hydro, and nuclear) and oil and gas industries.

I've had a side business Watts Abundant doing audio repairs in one form or another since 1983.  Singed up as a Phase Linear authorized repair center primarily to get all of the manuals (I did get them and still have them).  Did some moonlight work for Sound Values/Sound Valves doing repairs, engineering, production testing and support.  Always liked the Phase Linear and Marantz gear.  Side business provides beer money and an occasional toy.  Now selling a custom output relay board for Phase Linear 400 & 700. 

Frequent traveler (2 million airline miles) to present power electronics troubleshooting classes to plant electricians primarily in North America with some exposure to Asia, South America and Middle east.  Business travel has included stops at the Great Wall, The Pyramids, Oktoberfest and every U.S. state and most possessions.
