I'm a 50-something hobbyist.  I was really into audio equipment in my 20s, and have recently rekindled my interest now that I am an empty nester.  When my wife's grandmother passed away, the family said that we could go through the house and take anything we wanted.  She never had shared that her grandfather used to be a bit of an audiophile and we found some pretty nice equipment that had been going unused for decades.  My favorite of which was a beautiful pair of Allison II speakers that needed refoaming.  Those are what I primarily listen to now, coupled with a nice Onkyo TX-4500.  I've never owned any Carver equipment before, but have always admired the sound, and I really want to get into the vintage Carver world and up my game a bit.
