Hi All, I'm dealing with the same issue. Headphone out works fine. I disconnected a 3.3 k resistor (supposed to be a 5.1k in the schematic) that goes from U8 output mute circuit to each output channels mute FETS. That allowed the outputs to work. However putting in a resistor under 75K causes both channels to mute. I can't leave it like that so I'll get back to seeing what components have drifted or quit. I did pull the FETS and test them. They tested fine. Also U* is supposed to go high on turn on and go negative shortly after. It does with the resistor removed but not in circuit. Tekerman

I have 2 UHQR's. Dark side of the moon and Crime of the Century. Both are incredible. I did have the regular MoFi Crime of the Century and the UHQR was a step above. When I got LP's I had Kef 102.5 speakers and a proper listening environment. Now I have a spouse. Enough said. Tekerman

Wow!! Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!. After I put the C400 back together (big drag to properly do a tear down) I noticed if I pressed on the volume control the left channel would cut out. Open her back up and found a cold solder joint on the left side vol control. All that man-handling probably created it, but I've got the skills to set it right. Reflowed all 6 contacts and I'm in my happy place. Gotta say I'm really getting to love this preamp and The Carver Site! I Hope to contribute to the site in the near future. Best, Bri (AKA) Tekerman

Hi Everyone, New guy here! I probably got a bit of info here 2 years ago when I wanted to repair my C1. Instead of just repairing I found out about the BillD mod and went ahead got it and I love it! However... I've always lusted after a C4000 and my luck came in yesterday! I now have a version 2 unit. After cleaning the pots she mostly works. I can hear the AutoCorr work as does the LF cal. Not sure about the peak unlimiter. Barely flashes at max even with loud passages. Delay and rear amps work fine. I'll have to set up my speakers a little different to properly try the Sonic Holography. But this all lead me to joining this site! Now that I know what the BillD did for my C1 I'm looking for similar upgrade for the C4000 MkII Many thanks for letting me join! Tekerman
