  1. We plan to be there 4 or 5 nights in Treehouse B again. September 14 arrival Angelo was in Treehouse A last year.
  2. Merry Christmas everyone!
  3. I listened to Ray's system at Carverfest, as well as Mark Lucas' home-built open baffle speakers. They both sounded very nice. Open, nice soundstage, and very good detail. Bob
  4. Welcome, Billy!
  5. OTD, what maintenance do you do once a year that takes 1/2 hour? I have 2 Sunfire true sub signature models and haven't done anything to them--have used them 2-3 years. No problems with them.
  6. Very nice, Zumbini! Bob
  7. LFE stands for low frequency effect. It is a separate output or outputs on HT processors to hook up your subwoofers. The processors have built in bass management to enable you to set the crossover frequency between the sub and your other speakers-usually anywhere from 40hz to 100hz or so. Bob
  8. I have been using 2 Sunfire Signature subs with my AL3's for about a year, now. I tried them in stereo and in mono using the sub out on my tgp4. I could not tell a difference. It does sound more balanced with 2 than one. Bob
  9. I also used the blow dryer trick on my ALiii ribbon. My speakers were fine for 2 years until one day when it was really humid. Then I heard a slight vibration or buzzing sound from one ribbon. I remembered reading somewhere on a Carver forum that they did not like humidity. I used the dryer on low heat, and not too close to the ribbon, and moved it across the front with the foam still on for about a minute. I didn't use them again until the humidity was down. I have not heard the buzzing at all since then- about 2 months. Bob
