is this still for sale ? sorry not been around for years , spent a good 6 months of the last 2 years in hospital
  2. if it is still for sale i'm interested
  3. I would save my Celestion 662 , they really were great , but were a bit big for my apartment so had to sell them . God sound stage , plenty of bass , no need for subs . My 1.5t gave them a workout , walls and floors were shaking in fear when I turned on the system.
  4. i put one new woofer/speaker , the passive rad is the exact model that came out kd-12 12" . So far the speakers sound great , they are rated 6 ohms , at least that is what is printed on the paper on the back . I wish klipsh would give a bit more info on speaker specs ! As for replacing the foam surrounds , they are rubber and still in perfect shape , it really is a bad coil as far as I can tell .
  5. Thanks Bluesman 57 , I bought those speakers , he sent 2 and they are a perfect match , put one in each box and the sound is great ! Just found a passive rad for the ripped cone passive rad on one speaker , that will complete the project . now that I am back and the speakers fixed the 500-tmk II sounds great !
  6. thanks tinpan , might take you up on that .
  7. thanks i am bidding on them , so far i have yet to win anything on e bay .Anyone here know about how to match an 8"woofer to those boxes ? . if I can't win that k-9 I would like to replace all 4 woofers . What should I look for in the speaker , or would it be a mistake ? I found 2 complete working speakers , if they will part them out i will buy all 8 speakers , no box .
  8. a raspy sound once in a while , if i push in the cone it has a rubbing sound . I am sure it is finished . Any idea on a good replacement ? I will most likely replace all 4 , sure that a new speaker with 20 year old speakers will not sound right . Just not sure on what would be a good replacement . Willing to spend $50.-$70.00 per speaker , less if possible . I found replacement passive rad for the back , so just need the 8" to complete
  9. I would like one with a working remote , a pain to get in the wheelchair every time I want to change volume , switch source or something . That' is why I am looking at "newer" carver pre-amps . The 2 outputs for more than one amp and video are also a plus , might integrate with TV .
  10. trying to get a c-26v right now on ebay , as for speakers going to use my klipsh kg-4 , found a passive rad for the back to replace ripped one . Hope i win that carver pre amp ! really want to listen to that 500-t mkII !!
  11. well how about mordant short ms 908 , 4-8 ohms , would they be a better choice ? The other klipsh speakers are to big for the room , limited space and budget . By the way the amp arrived in one piece , looks great can't wait to get a pre amp and speakers hooked up . any ideas on new preamps under $1000.00 that would be a good match for the amp ?
  12. Well cornwalls are out , wife won't let them in the room , I'll give these a try , my old klipsh kg4 were not bad back in the day , hope these will be as good .My 1.5t was to much for them though , worked better with my celestion 442 with the 12" woofer , the amp was never to much for them , really controlled the woofer well . walls and floors were not safe around them !
  13. for the soon to arrive m 500t mII , a paif of klipsh refrence rf 82 . That is about as much as i want to spend right now . Are they a good choice , or are there better for about the same $$ . thanks
