CARVER CHERRY 180

HELLO EVERYONE,

I am new to this forum and I hope I am following forum guidelines. if not please let me know.

I would like to hear from anyone out there especially Mr. Carver in regards to the cherry 180 mono blocks. I have owned these for the last several months and am floored by there performance. I absolutely love them. i have owned various tube amplifiers over the course of my 45 years in this hobby and have not ever had as silent a background as these. I am running new penta kt88sc's ,siemans 12at7's and pre war ei 12ax7's smooth plate. I was considering some tube rolling and wondering if I could use any of the following tubes in place of the 12ax7 - 12DT7, 12DM7, 12DF7 or the 12AD7.

I'm still running the tubes Bob put in for over 7 years now. No complaints and no desire to go fishing for a 1% upgrade.

you still run sovtec's? or did they come with something else?

No Sovteks. Came with Telefunkens and Chinese KT88 power tubes.
