stevenlevel 146 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Just bought "Vivaldi" "The Four Seasons" from Sound Stage Direct. It's advertised as a Direct To Disk Recording in 180 Gram weight vinyl. I have never heard of this before and I have just begun to build a new record collection. Does anyone here understand exactly what Direct To Disk actually means and what it entails as well as any benefits to the sound playback on vinyl. Thanks Guys 1
compwaco 1,129 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I am very fond of Sheffield Labs Direct to Disc recordings. I used them as demos back in the 70's. Here is a link to more info about their history: Sheffield Labs 1

zumbini 6,150 Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I have a dozen or so of the early releases and none disappointed. A few of my favorites: 3
4krow 6,633 Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 I am fairly certain that I had a Patricia Barber album that was direct to disc. It also was recorded at 45 RPM. Sometimes a recorded performance can scary good. 1
