monte3x 4 Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Thanks. I really dont need these' date=' like most things I buy audio wise but I am looking forward to hearing them, like a drug addict always looking for a better high [/quote'] I seem to have gotten my speaker addiction under control, thank goodness. I was a bit out of control there for awhile with scores on Tannoys, Electro-Voice, JBL's, Beo's, Advents, AR's, always jonesing for Allisons. I felt bad until I met a guy who had it worse - something like 37 pairs of assorted vintage boxes in his house. It was like a damn museum in there. Freaking awesome really. I'm happy with what I have now, but if a pair of super-rare beovox M150's popped-up in my neck of the woods I suspect my discipline would crumble faster than a sugar cookie. 1

Well I doubt that unless I happen to win a non existent lottery where im at that I will be moving up from my main speakers Polk SDA SRS 1.2TL's but I am pretty satisfied with them especially after listening to them with Rich's tube buffer I kid you not they sounded the best I have ever heard a pair of speakers sound. I have owned every brand you mentioned earlier except for the Beo's and they all had something to offer, im not sure if there is one best speaker like brunettes blondes redheads there all nice in their own way but there is little doubt if there were more interesting speakers available local I would be trying them out. Sounded like a good time at your friends house REGARDS SNOW
Blues Pwr 766 Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Nice score, speakers look to be in great shape......
markturner 2 Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Nice speakers, I've had ADS speakers since 1990, my L-880s are a later version of yours and mine sound great, yours are supposed to be even nicer, if you need any parts there is a guy in Phoenix who use to work for ADS and bought out alot of there driver stock when they went out of business.
