Very good job on the restoration. I had a decision to make on a pair of those about a year ago and I opted out because I didn’t have the time. We were selling our house and didn’t want to take on a project like that.

They are definitely nice sounding speakers. Even with the restoration needed, they still sounded very nice.

Enjoy!!!

Nice detail.  Great Job.  Thanks for the share.

Thanks all for the nice comments!  I truly love how these speaker sound.  My TFM-15 quickly gives up when trying to drive these (at somewhat greater than reasonable volume 😁).  The Yamaha M-80 gives a little more headroom but not much, still sounds good though.  Unlike in the "Regrets ...." thread, these will not "depart the pattern" like my Bose 601's did.  The Maggies are hear to stay (pun intended).

Maybe I can breathe now. Rarely have I ever done anything that fine. And the aluminum wire. As if the task isn't delicate enough.

Hice work, @Half Life.  The only thing missing in your first restoration thread now is to post a picture of the final result, in your rig on each side of your component stack... 😉

I have a pair of maggie IIIa's that I'm dreading doing this..., and am even considering just sending them in to White Bear Lake, and calling it factory refreshed - if my wallet can handle it (it's pricey).
