Banana plugs for HTR-880?

Hi,

New member here. I have an HTR-880 purchased at Cambridge SoundWorks on 10/19/1997.

Question:

Can I use banana plugs to connect speaker wire to the speaker output terminals?

Which size of banana plugs?

From page 23 of the owners manual:

 

The HTR 880 speaker terminals are designed to accept bare wire, spade lugs (up to 3/16" OD), or standard banana plugs.

Hello Robert and welcome to the site.

 

For the most part standard banana plugs are 4mm. I usually opt for getting Nakamichi banana plugs but you will find a ton of other brands out there. The one main thing to keep in mind is wire size that they will work with. The range is usually between 18 and 12 ga for the most part. Can be found on Amazon and eBay to name a few.
