Robert Schwartz 10 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Hi, New member here. I have an HTR-880 purchased at Cambridge SoundWorks on 10/19/1997. Question: Can I use banana plugs to connect speaker wire to the speaker output terminals? Which size of banana plugs? Thanks! Robert 5
Sk1Bum 11,418 Posted July 12 Posted July 12 Hi Robert and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us. From page 23 of the owners manual: The HTR 880 speaker terminals are designed to accept bare wire, spade lugs (up to 3/16" OD), or standard banana plugs. You can download the manual here: https://thecarversite.com/manuals/mandir/Carver HTR-880 Home Theater Receiver Owners Manual.pdf I hope that helps, and again welcome!
Robert Schwartz 10 Posted July 13 Author Posted July 13 Thank you all for your kind and helpful replies! Isn't the internet amazing? Not only are there people who have the same interests that I do, but it is possible to find them and connect with them! Warm regards, Robert 3 1
BobTFM35 2,767 Posted July 13 Posted July 13 Hello Robert and welcome to the site. For the most part standard banana plugs are 4mm. I usually opt for getting Nakamichi banana plugs but you will find a ton of other brands out there. The one main thing to keep in mind is wire size that they will work with. The range is usually between 18 and 12 ga for the most part. Can be found on Amazon and eBay to name a few. 1
