Hi all. Having an issue with my Sunfire CG.  Very loud buzzing whether the amp is on or off. At first, the buzz would only appear when I’d turn the amp on, then after a few minutes it would dissipate. So I just left it on all the time.  However the amp is buzzing louder than hell all the time now, whether on or off.  Also, the left front channel has a hum. I knew that when I bought it, didn’t matter to me as I’m using it strictly as a two-channel amp. But now the buzzing is real bad and I measured some DC voltage out of the speaker outs.  What I’d really love is if I can get enough thumbs up on my post so I can download whatever scant Sunfire CG schematics there are here on the Carver site so hopefully my tech can suss it out for me. I have two Carvers headed to Nelion in May, so I’m going to either try my hand at this myself or give whatever info I can to my tech, who’s done great work on my gear up to this point.  Thanks in advance.

Hi Tony and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us.

We do have a few schematics for the Sunfire Cinema Grand. Unless something has changed, you should be able to download the files. I wish I could offer some pointers as to where to troubleshoot your amp, but I'm in no way qualified.

The files are at this link:

https://thecarversite.com/carvermanuals/

There will be a box in the page that looks something like an Excel spreadsheet. Along the bottom of the box you will see some more links, and one of them is Sunfire. Click on that and it will load the box with the manuals and schematics that we have.

I hope that helps.
