I did a complete restoration thread at Phoenix Audio Forum on that 700 project if anyone is interested. In the DIY section under "Larry's 700B"
Excuse my stupidity, but what is the Phoenix Audio Forum all about.  What is its affiliation?  Is there a like set of products behind the forum?

Welcome laatsch55! Nice equipment!

Reminds me of my first real amp...Pioneer Spec 4. I kept this amp until I bought my Phase Linear 700 Series II, then I sold it to a friend. I wish I had kept it. I always liked the big analog meters.

Yes jwilson55, I'll never turn loose of my Spec's. That stuff was built to last. The first one I bought new in 1975 and finally had to replace the bias interrupt relay, the V/A stage drivers and pre-drivers all under the direction of Echowars, bless his heart. 33 years of HARD daily use, what more could you ask, and then only 15.00 to fix it??

No BillD, speakerman1 started that forum, it has links to Phoenix Audio Tape buts its a completely separate entity. Just a bunch of us vintage nuts doing our thing.

You know we would have to be crazy to let Lee be a member. LOL
