xavionics 2,393 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Good evening and Happy Friday the 13th Picked up a pair of old KLH Model 22a's this evening. $29.95. I asked myself if I really need another project, my wife suggested "It's only 30 bucks, why not?" I rebuilt a pair of x-overs a while back on some Model 5's which were very impressive. Why not indeed! Popped the grills, all looks okay. Paid the man and took them home. Stood 'em on the Klipsch's, hooked up the Carver and fired up Pandora on the Sonus. Damn impressive! 8" 2-way, sealed enclosure. I'll probably open them up and freshen the x-overs sooner rather than later and use these in my office. Better bottom than my 6 1/2" DIY A/D/S's.
Bean 384 Posted July 14, 2012 Posted July 14, 2012 Congrats on the new project. They are always fun to mess with
xavionics 2,393 Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Well, finally an update. Sort of Wanted to share the date of the woofer...not too clear in the pic, but it reads Jun 22 1969 Researched and orderred what I thought were the correct caps. Wrong. Everything I found stated 4.0 mf, what I found were 8.0 mf with a 3 ohm resistor in series with the tweeter. Hmm, back to Parts Express again.
