Sounds like a good time to me?

Cerwin Vegas get loud with little power. But when you feed them a lot of watts...they get insanely LOUD!?
-
-
Yup...that looks identical to the d'9s that I once owned.??
-
Yeah when the music is cranked there is absolutely no concern over fan noise. 400+ watts running through some cerwin Vegas in a 12×30 room is like having the actual band your listening to playing live in front of you.?. Something I never really payed much attention to is the voltage number on my monster cable hts1000. I just checked it with everything turned on and its 123. Is this about normal? Now when the tunes were cranking like they were a few nights back when all the lights in the house were lightly dimming with each bass hit what should that number be showing.

I believe the old d9's from the mid 80's were. I was living at home back then and had a pair. I had a choice to be kicked out or ditch the stereo...that was a sad day when I said goodbye to the d'9s.?

Actually...my dogs were freaking out at about 11:30. Perhaps they were at my door. If so, they will come back around by Thursday night to punish me.

Now here is something that a few might find interesting...but maybe not. The At-15's have a 15" woofer with foam surround, 2 mids ,1 tweeter. 102 db 1w/1m....400 watts, 4 ohms...goes down to 28hz. ...The 380's have a 15" woofer with a ribbed accordion surround, 2 mids, 1 tweeter. Also 102 db 1w/1m...405 watts, 4ohms...goes down to 25hz. ...Today I was tinkering around. I took the 380's woofers out and put them in the at-15's cabinets. They have more bass in these cabinets then the 380's cabinets they were designed for.?

For $125...that's a steal! Parts for the At-15 are readily available on Ebay for a fair price.

My pm1.5a put a nice beating on the 380's last night. Bass was insane. For most of the night the leds were tapping the set underneath the " headroom exhausted" marking. That's running 4 ohms for about 5hrs. ...The lights in the whole house were lightly dimming everytime the bass hit. I estimate the amp was pushing 450-500 watts rms for the evening. The 15" woofers were taking quite a beating. Lots of deep excursion going on. My kitchen is right above the mancave And everytime I went upstairs to grab a beer all the dishes and glasses were rattling. Spls were awesome. ...Cerwin vega and carver is a wicked combination. No eq's or subs required. My bass is set flat on my preamp. All that's required is big old thumping speakers and a power house of an amp to match. I shut her down right before midnight to give the neighbors a break. Hopefully its safe to go outside today.??

The top 13 songs the CIA uses for torture.

Buddy at work kept singing this over and over for about a week..." torturing " everyone...lol -
Actually, the girlfriend found some new droppings in the kitchen yesterday. How many have I seen? Just the odd dead one that my cat has ripped to shreads upstairs. In the spring/summer I let him go outside and I find them dead everywhere surrounding my house...lol But in the basement on the opposite side of my mancave I have seen enough droppings to make me paranoid. I have laid traps in the past with peanut butter with not much luck.

Would it be a good idea to put a few mouse traps near my stereo? I would be paranoid that instead of being attracted to the bate....2 big speakers( hotels) might peak their interest instead.?
-
A case might not be a bad idea. I could build a light frame with thin plywood that I could lift up and over the speaker. Might look ugly but would keep the speakers safe and secure from mice, moisture etc.

It's a video of my pm1.5a and cerwin vega 380 se's. Any idea what the length would have to be (1 mb ) to download without any problems? Thanks
-
Just want to know if I can download a video I made using Lunapic. If so how long of a duration can it be? Thanks
-
Yeah thanks. Each speaker has 2 ports in the back down low. I want to put some type of mesh screen over those ports...but not if it's going to hinder bass response. ...As far as the neighbors go...I used to run my cerwin Vega at15's up stairs in my living room. Every Friday night I would pound on them for about 5 hrs then shut it down...always before midnight. ...On the 3rd visit ( 3 separate days ), by the cops i was told that if they had to come back...they said they would kick my door in, take my equipment and fine me...lol. since then i put everything in the basement and everything has been fine for the last 3 years. I have only had a chance to run these 380's for about an hour. I fear even though they are in the basement...i may receive another visit from the boys in blue this weekend.?

Yeah having 600 clean watts on tap (4 ohms) gets very entertaining and comes in handy at times.
-
Yes...mixed with cold beer, herb and strobe lights and you basically have your own personal concert!?

I dont care if they use my speakers to sleep and eat in as long as they dont start chewing on the wire or woofer surround...lol Last year my uncle went to check on some cerwin vega pa gear he had stored in his garage for about a year. The mice got at it and made mince meat out of the woofers. I'm just curious if some balcony /deck screen over the ports would hurt bass response in any way? Probably being a little paranoid on my part. I have seen the odd mouse down in my basement. But I have been partying down there faithfully every Friday night for the last 3 years and have never seen any mouse droppings near my stereo. It's always been in the opposite side of the basement. These Vegas are 29 years old and in showroom condition.

I just picked up a low mileage mint pair of Cerwin Vegas 380 se's from 1990. I am replacing my Cv at-15's with the 380's. These 380's absolutely pound on my Carver pm1.5a. Bass goes down to 25hz. Imo the best set of home speakers that Cerwin Vega has ever produced. I have been waiting for years for the perfect set of 380's to come along. Anyhow, just wondering if I can put a fine mesh Or something stronger over the rear ports to protect against mice getting in there. I dont want to take any chances. These are in my basement. Thanks
