  1. I don't see either of yours anymore, did you delete them Both?
  2. What's up with the map is, anybody can put a pin in the map anywhere and give it any name, so, if there are two pins for the same member, either he put two pins in there or someone else did.........
  3. ok....maybe I'm getting myself a BIT worked up
  4. Same guy, later in his post....I think he likes them ...... "If I had to give up all of my higher end equipment except for one thing, it would be these speakers I'd keep. I would rather listen to an "off the shelf" receiver through these than have $100,000 worth of front-end electronics running any other speakers that I've owned. "
  5. This response from that thread sounds very promising..... "I'm using them with the Behringer DCX2496 crossover and two amplifiers. The cabinets are extremely dead and an infinite baffle. I think he is using 1 "MDF and a heavy bracing pattern? They don't have a square edge or corner and they are heavy. Mine are without the bottom two woofers and the oak on the ribbons along with the complete alignment with the woofers ties in really nice for the eye. I've used PMC's, B&W's and Magnepan's as well as lot's of others. The largest Magnepans that I had were the Tympani 4A's with the 60" ribbon and midrange panel on the same frame and two bass frames on each side for a total of 6' x 7' of speaker panels on each side. I spent hours and hours trying to tweak their position (same with every other speaker) to balance bass, imaging and depth. The Linesource design gives me the plus'es of the big Magnepan's without any of the minuses. " I just might have to save up pennies for this..........
  6. A bit pricier, but much more efficient and easier to drive 8)
  7. This company, and their idea (a monopole ribbon driver that's high efficiency and easy to drive) has the hook in my mouth. a flat 7R ribbon with 94db/w/m sensitivity might actually be the ticket eh? I read somewhere on their site that they almost resurrected Apogee.
  8. My Cornwall II towers use two 15 inch per channel woofs, and I think they could use a sub! The review says they are 2 dB down at 25Hz, which seems amazing for 2 6" drivers. I'd be VERY interested in hearing them......
  9. A review from AIG: http://www.audio-ideas.com/reviews/loudspeakers/newform_r645.html
  10. They have a few different models. ranging 5R to 8R and ruler flat; the efficiency is so-so 89db/w/m to pretty good 93 /3/m. Like all ribbons, they are NOT fs, they usually have a sub-box underneath them )like the ALS-III's
  11. Interesting read; it somehow landed me here: http://www.newformresearch.com/technology.htm anybody hear of these? A ribbon that efficient and easy to drive would be a godsend
  12. Wow.....looks very nice! that would make a great front end for a media center
  13. When the page first loads there's a dialog box for you to add your pin. If you miss it, there's a spot in the upper right to do the same
  14. so far mr X and Steve are up in Carver country, and I'm the only bonehead stuck in the middle of the continent.
