  1. What if I am a Novice and still unable to upload even a single photo from an iPhone? "You are only allowed to upload 1,003.52kb"
  2. @Receiver2000 I could not remember at the time of my initial post but after looking on youtube and remembering back, the Carver receiver 2000 was the first piece of gear I owned.
  3. The "Beltectomy" was successful, the tray now opens and closes successfully but the display says "disk" when I try to play a cd. The guts and fix for the belt looks very much like this video: How to fix Carver DTL 50 cd player belts but despite the fix, I never heared the cd spin. Based on my research so far, it appears to be a dead motor, which is a common problem amongst all aged cd players. All in all, replacing the belts was pretty easy, especially if you take off several of the screws which hold down the belt wheels .
  4. I'll try to attach some pictures of my equipment later today.
  5. My replacement belts arrived yesterday for my Carver DTL 50, so, I will be attempting to fix it today. It has been broken since the early 2000's. Does anyone have any tips for that? I've cleaned the area where the belts attach but unsure how easy it will be to work in such a small area since I have not been able to find any youtube videos for the complete task. I've seen the 45 second one which shows the belts spinning while the drawer opens and closes.
  6. You have quite the welcome crew on this site. I wasn't sure if I would get any flak about owning the Bose 901's, nice to see someone else owns some...although, I do wonder what speakers pair best with the Carver CT-7 and M 4.0T
  7. Walrus Gamboot - My user name I figured I would have some fun and try to be a little creative with my user name since this is a Carver site consisting of music enthusiasts. Walrus Gamboot is a line from the Beatles song, Come Together; I always thought John Lennon was singing..."He got Walrus Gumball," which I really like better as a user name but decided I should use the actual for acurracy. He bag production He got walrus gumboot He got Ono sideboard He one spinal cracker He got feet down below his knee Hold you in his armchair You can feel his disease Come together, right now Per Google “Gumboot” is the British word for long rubber rain boots. John has said that this is his gobbledegook putting words together as he was good at doing! (like for example I “I Am The Walrus”)
  8. I forgot to mention: I also have two Carver M-2120 car amplifiers in my collection
  9. Greetings from Charlotte, NC I recently started watching Bob Carver videos and Carver equipment repair videos on YouTube and it re-sparked my interest. I live outside the Charlotte, NC area and started collecting Carver equipment while in the Navy and stationed in Keflavik, Iceland from 1988 through 1992. I was first exposed to Carver amplifiers while going to Navy 'A' school at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis; I listened to a Bose speaker demo at the local mall and they mentioned the system was powered by a Carver amp and needless to say, I was impressed. My collection began with a Carver "entry level" Audio\Video combo unit of which I cannot remember the specific model. As I read more and listened more to friends Carver set ups, I kept wanting to upgrade my own equipment, so, I would sell my equipment and upgrade to the next Carver device. For example, I started with a Carver M 1.0T amp but eventually sold & upgraded to M 4.0T . In the end, my collection consists of One Carver DTL 50 cd player (currently on the disabled list, needs two belts installed) One Carver TDR 2400 cassette deck One Carver CT 7 pre amp One Carver M 4.0T Silver Seven Vacuum Tube Transfer Function amplifier (as my friend used to say in his commercial voice, 375 watts per channel of pure power LOL) As for speakers, I started with a pair of Bose 301 bookshelf speakers, sold them and moved onto something else which I cannot remember and ended with: Bose 901 series VI speakers which I still use today
