Infinity Kappa 7 - How to test?

I'm once again making the trek to Phoenix for a visit.  Lately I've been interested in picking up a pair of Infinity speakers - mostly because I've never heard a set before.  Searching through craigslist, I found these.

Any thoughts on how to easily test/inspect the tweeters and mid range? Price seems fair if everything is intact.

Looks like the polydomes are cracked. They will need to be rebuilt. There is a listing in Scottsdale for the Infinity Kappa 9.1 v2 speakers. There are also a pair of Kappa 6 speakers in my closet.  If you want to pursue the speakers in Buckeye your looking at maybe $200 to $300 for replacement polydomes. Wayne, pm me your # so I can call you later, you can come over and hear my Kappa 9's sing when your in town.

Oh, and I may have a replacement dome or domes to where we could swap out the cracked diaphragm and save you purchasing rebuilds.

I saw the dome in one of the photos, but couldn't see it in the others. Looks pretty bad and should have shown up in the others.

 

I like the size of the 7's - mostly because they will fit in my car for the trek back to California.

Good luck on the quest for some Kappas Wayne!!! You DEFINITELY have to meet up with Gene and listen to his setup.......you'll REALLY be on the quest to upgrade then LOL!!!!

That was a nice offer Gene. Wayne is an interesting cat. He's heard a lot of speakers so his impressions will be notable. I just lifted some RS 6 kappas from a local guy for a song and they are super mint. Except for the one plant ring on top!!!! What's with women and plants on speakers? Wait....... Ring? Maybe it's a clue?
