Hi,

I have owned my Carver AV199 amp, since sometime in the early 90s, when I bought it off a friend.  I used it as my main system amplifier for all these years.  In the last few years, it fell into disuse, because my family is grown up and gone, and I find I am watching and listening to more stuff through my computer.

I was using a JVC 8000R, to control the input from my computers and my other players, but it has recently started acting up, so I decided to install the Carver as my main amplifier downstairs.

I am looking to enjoy many more years of service from my "old" Carver AV amp, and to reading and learning from the people on this forum.

Hello j-jock and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us!

I am not familiar with the AV199, and we don't have any documentation for that amp. If you happen to have the owner's or service manual, we would sure like to add a copy to our archives.

We love pics here of all kinds of stereo and home theater gear. Once you get to Novice status, consider uploading some pics of your system(s) in the Members Systems area.

I am sorry, I mislead you.  I am a touch typist,  and I guess I lost my touch.  🙂  I obviously selected the wrong last 2 digits.  The correct designation for the amp, is AVR 100.

I just finished getting it set up to work with my computer, CD and DVD recorders and players, as well as the TV..  I am thrilled by the improvement in sound quality.  This surprises me, because I thought the JVC 8000R, was an excellent machine.

I attempted to upload a picture, but am going to have to read up on how to upload same.  Anyway, it is just a standard AVR 199.

You probably won't have the option to upload until you reach Novice status. Novice comes once you get your 5th positive reaction, i.e., Like this, Love this, That rocks.

Uhm, :D
