spod 5 Posted Saturday at 12:34 AM Posted Saturday at 12:34 AM Been a long time fan and finally was able to find an unmolested MXR-130 to add to my C-9. Ages ago I convinced a then friend to look at Carver and they got "the receiver". A shady salesman convinced them to go the route of a Dynaco tuner (it had more digits to the right of the decimal point so it must be better I was told) and a Rotel! Having installed Rotel PA amps in grocery stores all I could do was double face palm ! 5
Kurt 3,183 Posted Saturday at 01:57 AM Posted Saturday at 01:57 AM Welcome to the Carver Site! Carver receivers are under-appreciated in my opinion. I have one and it's awesome. 35 years old, no updates or refurbs, sounds great! 1
Half Life 1,113 Posted Saturday at 09:12 AM Posted Saturday at 09:12 AM Welcome from Virginia! Enjoy your stay! I recently finished restoring 2 MXR-900 receivers for my two oldest granddaughters (both 12). Gave them as Christmas gifts. I agree with @Kurt, they are really nice receivers. 1
Sk1Bum 12,793 Posted Saturday at 05:04 PM Posted Saturday at 05:04 PM Hello spod and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us! The Carver receivers are highly regarded here, and congrats on your score. A friend of mine had a similar experience. A shady salesman convinced him to get rid of his Carver amps, and replace them with some Adcom amps. While the Adcom amps sounded OK, he regretted getting rid of the Carvers. 1
