Papajoe 221 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 If you want to get the real essence of early produced LPs, you need to hear them on those speakers. Papajoe

PapajoeI agree these earlier drivers used alnico magnets that had a different sound than the later ceramic magnets did, the Jensen driver came from a Fender Bassman guitar cabinet made in 1959 the square magnet driver came out of a Klipschorn cabinet from the same era. Believe it or not Jensen is making current reproduction drivers of the same type here. The Jensen P15N is a 15" of full bodied & full range tone Warm, deep low-end and sparkling highs Responds to overdrive distortion with a bright edge and lengthy sustain capabilities Originally used in the early Fender Bassman and Bandmaster The Jensen 'P' Series speakers use Alnico magnets Available in 4, 8 or 16 ohms Bell Cover Sold Separately Item Price: $262.95 P15N-4 - 4 ohms P15N-8 - 8 ohms P15N-16 - 16 ohms Bell cover for P15N Item Price: $34.95 SPEAKER MODEL P15N Specifications Nominal Basket Diameter 15" / 385mm Impedance 4, 8 or 16 ohms Rated Power 50 Watts Musical Power 100 Watts Frequency Response 50Hz -4kHz Sensitivity (1W/1m) 96.8dB SPL Voice Coil Diameter 1.5" / 38mm Magnet Assembly Weight 12.5 oz./ 355 grams Speaker Materials Magnet AlNiCo Voice Coil Winding Copper Voice Coil Former Kapton Cone Paper Surround Integrated Paper Dust Dome Solid Paper Basket Pressed Sheet Steel Mounting Information Front Mount Baffle Cutout 14.49" / 368mm Overall Depth 167.6mm / 6.6" Thiele-Small Parameters Resonant Frequency (fs) 77 Hz Impedance (Re) 6.5 ohms Coil Inductance (Le) .90mH Electromagnetic Q (Qes) 1.36 Mechanical Q (Qms) 9.63 Total Q (Qts) 1.18 Comp.
