I agree, I prefer having all of those aspects of the music that is shared (so you dont have to search it out) and am also particularly interested when the sound recording quality is noted as well.

This has been the convention for the last several years. Personally, I like the artist, title (track or album), link to youtube format, but it's not required.

I read the format the same way: a pick plus a sentence on why it's stuck with you, rather than a bare title. As for the split you mention, I usually land on game soundtracks proper — there's a lot of late-80s synth work in that space that sits right in the ambient-meets-arcade zone you described. Slower, moodier tracks fit autumn listening well regardless of source, so I'd be glad to see both kinds posted here. Curious which specific soundtracks you've been revisiting.

I'll bite on the music game angle since the title suggests picking a track rather than just listing gear. Lately I've been revisiting late-80s synth soundtracks, the kind that sit somewhere between ambient and arcade energy. New York autumn always pulls me toward moodier, slower stuff too, so my listening has been a mix of both. Curious whether folks here lean toward game soundtracks proper or just whatever's on repeat while they read the forum. Either way, it's a fun excuse to swap discoveries.

The thread title promises a listening game, but the opening post reads like page chrome rather than an actual pick. What's the format here — do we name a track and the next person responds, or is this just a running now-playing list? If it's the latter, a short line on what the track is and why it's on repeat would make it more useful than a bare title. Happy to follow whatever convention the regulars already use.
