The idea was to check if the frequency range was being compressed in any way. This is also a baseline of a non-BillD C1 to compare with a future BillD-C1.

There is quite a bit of variation between service providers and connectivity options. I use OTA broadcasts, and TV Tuner will send digital formats via Optical and my 4ES is set to Auto Decode, so I know broadcast shows at night are usually DD5.1. Netflix will honor the Info button on Remotes and show the details of the stream (except ATV). @UM... do you have an option to directly connect Optical to the Carver from the PVR and see what the format is. Balok's test confirms the pass thru does not work in all environments. If you did have this working in the past, it may be worth checking the appropriate settings on the Sony, to verify correctness.

There are very very few TVs which will actually pass Digital formats. The TV Tuner will output Digital formats only for broadcast formats. If the digital stream passed through the TV, it will end up being 2CH out of the TV optical. See CNET and SONOS articles.

The colors do not show, but it is a double layer PCB, with VIAs to allow all the components to be one side and the etching on the other side. I do not have any equipment/tools/chemicals to etch a PCB. I have seen the DIY with traces, for example - this tutorial.

Excel formula is H3 = D3 + 2 x F3 If I do the reverse, then C6 = A3 - C3 C7 = C6 / 2 F6 = D3 - F3 F7 = F6 / 2 What am I doing incorrectly? Are the holes from edges asymmetric? Let me know if you need the spreadsheet.

I had 6 x 2-in x 1-in PCBs etched for about $71 in 4-6 days. They also have expedited rates, but bulk orders get discounts as well. I should have better idea by CoB tomorrow.

Can I get dimensions of the crossover plate and the resistors and capacitors and the inductance? I will try and put together an etched PCB drawing and get a quote from 4pcb.com. I can post the etched PCB layout once I have the drawing completed for review and feedback.

I would also suggest Live AID DVD set.

This is what I had in mind with my suggestion. When I put LEDs in my TFM55, I used 4PCB to build a small batch of 10 etchings. If all the CS! folks want to collaborate, they also provide bulk services, and giving them component specs, an assembly service is also provided. A wiring connector on such a PCB will also make wiring runs to the ribbon/woofers much easier. They have free software to do PCB layouts on Windows OS. I may have posted this on the LED thread.

I have ended up with many a duplicate, DSoTM (3x), Who (3x), Fleetwood Mac(4x),... If I am in a hurry, the not-so-good one plays in a changer, otherwise the better recording plays in a 490t. I have noticed the human brain will enrich music from memory and fill in the gaps quite often.
