  2. It was nice meeting you, David, and thanks for your help with the amp kitting! The week does go really fast, doesn't it? Crazy!

  4. One of my all-time favs!
  5. Welcome to the forum, Carter!
  6. And clearly I'm innocent, so he must be wrong when such accusations fly.
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. lol I tell ya. He's always thinking I'm up to something nefarious. Which, sometimes has merit...but only sometimes
  9. Wife Approval Factor - very hard for male-types to predict and plan for. Typically demonstrated when said male brings a new pair of speakers, subwoofers, etc. home as a result of a great "score". The level of excitement can be severely limited or even destroyed by a low WAF. Conversely, this level of excitement can be exponentially increased by receiving a high WAF. Ah ha! Thanks B-Man So then the opposite would be HAF for the Husband Approval Factor
  10. Thanks That's a fantastic idea though. If someone knew enough about electronics, materials and acoustics designing a speaker system for a specific room would be an interesting endeavor.
  11. Thanks for the welcome guys!
  12. Thanks! It's a great hobby that improves the quality of listening - be it movies, games or music - which then enhances the experience, which then creates a more positive experience and positive home. Yup. That's my story and sticking to it Have to ask though as it's been mentioned a few times, what's WAF?
  13. I love that amp! It's one of those 'Behold the Power!' amps. Explosions never sounded so crisp before.
  14. Admittedly, I have a bit of a thing for non-rectangular speakers - the ones that look like alien pods or dragon eggs or weird flying saucers. After seeing DCL's post of a picture with some truly odd shaped speakers, it got me wondering - Does the shape of the speaker have any affect on the sound? Are there some shapes that look cool but sound awful? Are rectangular speakers so common because that shape produces the best sound quality - or because they're easier to make? For that matter, does the material the speaker is composed out of - wood vs. plastic for instance - make a difference in sound quality?
  15. Welcome William! This is a great place to be. Lots of fine folks packed full of knowledge and insight.
  16. LOL Thanks guys! This seems like the fun sort of madhouse. And you even have Taz!
  17. Thanks Dave! I dunno, in all these years it's never worked with Greg. LOL
