Thanks Mark. This may be a dumb question but rather than get the 45, why wouldn't you pick up another TFM-25 and run them bridged? Seems like it would sound great and look cooler to boot!

This is where I've been out of the swimming pool for a while but that's the kind of thinking I'm going into this with. I just don't want to end up with gear I don't use anymore...kinda like I did with the ol' CM-1090 sitting in my parents' rack these days. So if that's a silly idea, let me know. Thanks for the feedback! b

There are no dumb questions Billy. (At least that's what I keep telling myself. emwink.gif)

Bridging tends to reduce or smear the soundstage (your mental picture of where the instruments/voices are located).
It can also affect how well an amp controls speaker cone excursion which may result in "flabby" (less focused) bass.

If you need more power try single channel mode (feed signal to 1 amp channel of each amp; each amp drives 1 speaker).
This is called "power steering" and it applies to most common ground amps. Here's an excerpt from the M-1.5t manual:

I have a small stereo cabinet so a single amp works better for me.  The other reason is the TFM-25 does not use the magnetic field power supply like the -45 and The Receiver.  And, my -45 seems to run cooler to the touch than the -25 (but I haven't measured the temp, just my impression).

Welcome to the Site, Billy. It's fun to dream of all the possibilities when it comes to building a Carver system. So many choices. If you decide you're after a good tuner hit me up. I've got a nice TX-11a all boxed up.

Zum- I follow you now. Makes total sense and that's pretty cool to know. Thank you.
Welcome!
To add to Zumbini's amp info- many of the good speaker choices have dips into low impedance, which isn't good for bridged amps. The M-4.0t/TFM-42/TFM-45 family is a great place to start with high power requirements and match that C-9.

Welcome to the site. I've always wanted a C19, it's one of the few pieces of Carver gear that'still on my list.
