aslan7 954 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 While chatting with Loner_t & Doh-R the other night about music, Rod had suggested a King Crimson album. -- I was not aware of their groundbreaking work back in the day. (Yes, I'm that uneducated) Since our family desires a small (< 50), Quality audio, LP collection, I thought that King C. -- Court of the Crimson King LP would make a nice addition for our listening enjoyment. While searching to purchase this LP on FleaBay, I got a little carried away and made a best offer (which was accepted) on this great lil' variety pack : MOFI MFSL 9 Album Collection Thank you L_t who made the suggestion I pick up a TT. Thank you Rod who kick started my LP collection w/ 5 karma LP's and now has me on the right path with the K.Crimson nudge/push. My bank account does not care for either of you King Crimson is extraordinary. WOW. Great music. Son enjoys it too. Loving the vinyl experience as I prep and play One LP from this recent eBay purchase every other day. (Btw, I still love DSD/SACD sound quality--but the vinyl process is just soooo fun with the family. They still get a kick out of shooting that Milty-anti static gun.) Let the music play on...
soulsurfer 110 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Completely agree! KC was a great band...and congrats on your 'new' adventure into 'old' media. Nothing can beat LPs. 1

I was introduced to that Crimson album in 1982 and it completely changed my musical direction. While immersed in a party school atmosphere I stuck out with regard to my musical choices thereafter and became thoroughly involved with the KC catalog. If this music appeals to you then be aware this band changed many personnel and existed in many incarnations, each a distinct animal from the other. That said I unreservedly suggest acquiring a copy of their album called Lark's Tongues In Aspic as the next step in the King Crimson sonic universe. 1
aslan7 954 Posted June 3, 2016 Author Posted June 3, 2016 Thanks WR. I'll certainly check that out. Rod gave the same advice about various K. C. band members and where they went on to play as well as their musical "style". "Lark's Tongues.." is on the listening to do list now. Thank u!!
loner_t 2,568 Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Thanks for the kind words, Aslan. All of us are teaching each other new music and new ways to enjoy it. As Ranjeet in Mind Your Language would say - A Thousand Apologies for draining your bank balance/wallet. May the Gringotts Bank help restore some order! (Rod has also introduced peyote in the mix. What a ! ). 1
