aslan7 955 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I spent that last two days (after flying) chilling out to Roger Water's "The Wall" Blu Ray edition encoded with Dolby Atmos. I can highly recommend this version. Other than the troubled soul of Water's wrestling with his father's and grandfather's death in WW2 & WW1 respectively, it is outstanding. What a show....and the sound is amazing--especially the planes flying overhead at times; the judge & jury scenes; and the wall crumbling down in the end is spectacular. Comfortably numb gave me goose bumps--and I, like the rest of you, have probably heard it a thousand times. Curious if any other forum members have some Atmos fav's? Roger Water's The Wall Blu Ray w/ Atmos encoding ($14 on Amazon)
PMAT 2,066 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Nice! I don't have atmos but I went to the concert! Epic! 1
maytag 858 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 My son downloaded "The Wall" a few weeks ago. It's been years since I listened to it. I forgot how powerful it is.
BarryG 2,859 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 The wall is very powerful! I never seen the wall live, but I can cay DSOM tour live was incredible , I would think the wall would have been epic! I'll have to check out this version! Barry
aslan7 955 Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Nice! I don't have atmos but I went to the concert! Epic! One of my few regret's, ...missing that concert, Paul. My college room mate had ticket's back in the day and I stupidly declined bc of another commitment. In the words of Chris Farley in "Tommy Boy" ---Stupid, Stupid with my head down in shame.
PMAT 2,066 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Well buddy, I just lucked out. I happened upon a thread where somebody mentioned a tour by Roger. I hit the site for tickets and saw $200 tickets and snagged them. 4 th row floor almost center. Get this, the stage production was crazy and one third(!) of the main floor was computer controllers and other hardware. Sound was in quad or similar. Sound from all around. Crazy good. Audiophile orgasm. 1

PMAT 2,066 Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 It was at the Sharks ice arena in San Jose. Best show I've seen. 1
