Hi there,

I’m Granitetop, getting crotchetier by the day, as I am getting ready to start the last season of life, I realized how much I love music after going into a hi end stereo place. Having started as a young man, joining the AF, while stationed in Europe, Germany specifically, we had the coolest places to purchase the best stereo equipment of forever. Most of you know this if you were in during the 70’s, 80’ and early 90’s, all that equipment was top of the line and Made in Japan, speakers were mostly American. We were a group called AMMO (ordinance), we all had beautiful stereos but not really knowing what we had, I bought a Carver HR-752 before leaving Germany. I had other stuff Altec 14’s Yamaha CD player like CD X-1….

Fast forward now, my AMMO brothers, kept most of their equipment to this day and are able to repair their stuff and that what brings me here, the broken Carver HR-752. Ta Da

Hello Granitetop and welcome to the carversite.com. Glad you found us.

Thank you for your service!

My first CD player was a Yamaha CD X-1, and I may still have it in the attic. I did some housecleaning this spring, and I don't recall tossing it, but I may have. It gave me several years of service.

Of that series of receiver, the HR-752 is my favorite.

I'd get it professionally restored.

And, of course..., we LOVE pictures of gear, speakers, etc.
