Jimmy Hudema 6 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 I have had mine since 1982. Right now it is not hooked up, but plan on firing her up real soon. I did take it for repair once in 1996. Crackly sound was coming out. Was repaired and have loved it as I have for 43 years. Many good memories with it. Thank you all for posting. I live in the Vancouver area, IF I need to take it in for repair, any suggestions would be wonderful . 6
BobTFM35 3,002 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Hello and Welcome to the Carver site!! Nice piece of equipment and like the decent amount of power from the five channels. Also like that it has pre out to add external Carver (or other) amps. For a restoration/refresh two places come to mind; https://nelionaudio.com/ Located in the state of Michigan https://hitechaudioltd.com/pricing/ located in the state of Washington. 1

Balok 1,705 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Welcome to the forum. The HR895 came out in 1992 (not 1982 , typo?). I've had mine since 1999. Nice unit. Crackling sound is often caused by bad pre-driver transistors. A relatively easy fix. Hopefully you can get it up and running again. If you have any problems, be sure to post them on the forum first. 1
