jamesbutenas 12 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 (edited) I just brought home a Carver receiver from the museum that I belong to ( The Vintage Radio and Communications Museum of Ct.) and I can’t find a model number on it . It does have a serial number and lots O’ warnings but no model number. I just finished repairing a Technics M275x back to running condition by changing a belt and restoring the other one with a little magic cleaning pots etc now it’s time to tackle the Carver. I know that it uses some proprietary parts but besides missing a few knobs I don’t know a thing about it. Are there service manuals available for Carver receivers ? First I need to find out what model it is and then take it apart and troubleshoot it. Thanks I’m advance Jim Edited January 20 by jamesbutenas Misspelled a word 6
Sk1Bum 12,425 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Hi James and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us. Here is the link to the manuals area: https://thecarversite.com/carvermanuals/ You'll see a window that resembles and excel spreadsheet. Scroll down in that window until you come to the Receivers area, and you will see what we have available. I'm not familiar with the Carver receivers other than what I've read here, so I hope that helps.
jamesbutenas 12 Posted January 20 Author Posted January 20 Thanks for the advice and have a great day 3

Thanks I’m advance Jim Sounds like you have an MXR-130 or MXR-150 - very similar - and hard to identify by anything on the faceplate or the back plate. One good way is to post a picture here (just cut and paste) in your thread post. That way, we can give you a better idea. Love the Museum in CT. I've picked up a few things from there that didn't fit their focus on radios..., 😉
Half Life 980 Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Welcome from VA! Enjoy your stay! Like @AndrewJohn said, post a picture of the from of the unit and we'll get it identified for you.
BobTFM35 3,002 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Here is a link for the Museum. Some very interesting stuff that they have. Also they are having a swap meet Feb 7 for all those in the area. https://www.vrcmct.org/ 1
