ArmorRanger 7 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I am a Seattle native, retired military that had a college roommate with Carver Stereo gear. I was always envious and loved how they sounded. I have purchased a M 1.0t amp and will also get a M 0.5t and CT-17 pre-amp tuner. I will be transitioning from older Yamaha gear to Carver. Wish me luck Andy G. 7

Sk1Bum 12,409 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Hello ArmorRanger and welcome to thecarversite.com. Glad you found us. I used a Yamaha C-85 pre, T-85 tuner, and various Yamaha CD players for a while. Good equipment, and I still have them in my storage unit. I should dig them out, clean them up, and see if I can sell them. Good luck with your move to Carver gear. It was a great move for me. Thank you for your service!
Half Life 972 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 (edited) Welcome from VA! Enjoy your stay! I still own a Yamaha M 80 amp and a Yamaha C 60 pre-amp. Both have been repaired/restored and all of the dreaded Sony glue has been removed. That Sony glue was nasty stuff, causing all sorts of corrosion. From one Veteran (US Navy) to another Veteran, thank you for your service. Edited January 21 by Half Life
3M_Audio 2,226 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Welcome! It's a great feeling when years later you get that gear you saw when you were younger (and had no money ). And the good news on vintage Carver gear is that it's all serviceable so can sound as good, or better, than new.
BobTFM35 3,002 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Oh, and when you reach the Novice status you should be able to post pictures of your Stereo gear. We all like pictures.
Zenith4me 1,529 Posted January 21 Posted January 21 Welcome to TCS! I lived in the Seattle area for 25 years and then moved to Florida to retire. The PNW is beautiful.
