I joined this site to get more info, get the manuals, and see what pre-amp will work for my system, be it a Carver pre-amp or another brand. My current system is nothing special, besides the speakers which are special to me: NAD 7240PE receiver, Marantz Network Audio Player NA6006, Pioneer PD-F19 300+1 CD "jukebox", and a Onkyo CP-1036A turntable. The speakers are Magnepan 1.6 QRs I bought in December 1998, had them refurbished by Magnepan in 2021 and Magnepan then drop-shipped them to "Peter Gunn" in PA. Peter modified the 1.6s by building custom stands and custom cross-overs for them. I look forward to learning about Carver. 7

Almost any preamp will work with those amps, but a C-1, C-11, or a 4000t is almost magical. All three of those preamps can be modded to where they are magical. I hope you find a combination that you love. If you have questions, feel free to ask. We love spending other people's money.
