Sorry but I'm lost....lets take it one step at a time. If your speakers are biamped and working, lets remove that from the question. You have a sub that you want to incorporate into your Sunfire Theatre Grand (Preamp not amp, right?) but you some how have a Denon home theatre amp system connected in there somewhere trying to control your Polk sub? Am I hearing you right?

I have run into this in the past, with trying to get subs to work in 2 channel systems too - usually with Pioneer and Denon receivers.

Go into your speaker set up option in the receiver's menu, and change the sub setting from "LFE" to "Yes", or "On".  If your sub setting is on LFE, it will only play LFE info extracted from decoding DD or DTS.  If you change it to Yes, or On, it will engage the cross over, and feed the sub all frequencies below the set point.

IMHO, you will NOT like the effect the sub has on your 2 channel listening, but give it a try!

Which model of Theater Grand do you have?

In 2 channel mode, you have to change the mains to "small" & choose a crossover frequency between 40 & 160 hz. I know this works with the TG 3 & above, but I'm unsure about the TG 1 & 2....

Are you bi-amping with external or internal crossover?

If you wish to use the speaker wire & subwoofer pass-through connections instead of the RCA connection:

A: if you are using the internal speaker crossovers, you can run wires from either amp, through the sub to the speakers. I'd use the upper if it were me, but it makes no real difference.

B: if you are using an external electronic crossover, use the amp that feeds the woofers as it will have the low frequency signal.

Wire the amp to the sub, then from the sub to the appropriate binding posts of the speaker.

to clarify i have the sub hooked up to my denon currently and its working fine...i use the denon for watching movies......simply i wanted to plug the sub into the sunfire theater grand processor....to see how it sounds with my music in 2 channel....when i plug it into the rca sub connects i get nothing....i dont know why....anyways i figured id run it using speaker wire to my speakers but cnt find anything when bi amping.

You have to go into the menu settings on the Sunfire, turn the sub in the menu settings ON. If the sub is on you need to check the sub dB levels on the Sunfire. To help us out here a little, how exactly do you have your Denon connected to the Sunfire through what terminals?

So let me guess...

You have you computer connected to the Sunfire (music), and your DVD player (movies) to the Denon right?

Why not run an optical TOSLINK from your computer to the Denon? Then you can connect your L & R pre-out to your Sunfire and use us it for everything and allow your Denon to do what it does best and manage all ins and outs.

i connect both the denon and the sunfire with a cable that on one end has left and right rca and the other is a microhone jack...i swap them when i want to listen to music i siply pull out the one from the denon..i do not watch dvd's and i dont play cd's i have 2 TB's of music and movies on my storage drives in my pc.....i do not want to run the sunfire all the time. id like to keep it as long as possible so im trying not to "wear it out" sometimes i fall asleep watching movies and i dont want the sunfire getting all that use.. the denon im very happy with but i can get another much easier than the theater grand...

Then just get an RCA Y splitter and run into the sunfire AND the Denon (aux in). Then when you want to hear the sub, you just select AUX (or whatever RCA input you use on the Denon) and you'll get the SUB pre-out to work with the same signal going to the Sunfire.

btw i love the sound with the added sub. i live in an apartment and i cant play my system too loud which sux, but i still piss a few people off from time to time.....i couldnt even think about listening to music and some compact all in one space saver that gets sold in department stores.....omg that seems like it would be torture after knowing the difference. the only reason i know about any of this stuff is cuz my boss had a sunfire system at work and when he was away blew one of the channels and needed to find a suitable replacement.....

Good to hear.

I use my sub from time to time in 2 channel, but usually at -12dB.
