  2. Hello, I have a CM-1090 that I purchased brand new from a Lechmere store back in the day. Wow, that was a minute ago. This thing has been a champ running a pair of Cerwin-Vegas with 12" woofers since the beginning. Age has taken a toll though. One meter lamp went out years ago, no biggie. Oh, and the power button only lasted about 5 years of ownership LOL. Now, however, it started flickering the CD Direct function on and off semi-rapidly cutting the audio source (typically TV) on and off. Thought I'd open it up and clean the switch with DeoxIT, but there are more issues to be found. R779 on the main board is burnt and loose. Caps are bulging. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. Any thoughts and suggestions welcome! Would probably prefer to get it back in shape some how...
  3. Rick Wakeman, Return to The Red Planet was released on October 16, 2026. "Following his acclaimed 2020 album The Red Planet, Rick Wakeman makes a triumphant and inevitable return to Mars with Return To The Red Planet, a sweeping new progressive work that fuses science, imagination and musical virtuosity into one of the most ambitious recordings of his career." 5. Hello, and thanks to the members who welcomed me. I have my PL400 Series 1 on the workbench, and I’m about to perform one final update. This will include replacing all the ceramic capacitors, swapping C6 for a 330µF or 470µF 16V non-polarized "Muse" capacitor (depending on what I have in stock), adding two diodes in parallel, and replacing all the carbon resistors with metal film ones. After that, I’ll run some tests using my diagnostic equipment and, of course, do some listening. I’m sure I’ve got a few hours of enjoyment ahead of me. Have a good day, Mark

    Austin City Limits

I came across another Austin City Limits episode that I had to watch all the way through. The Red Clay Strays are a country soul, country rock and gospel band. The singer has a unique voice. I hope you enjoy it too.
  21. Thats some baritone sax.
  22. Ryan Middagh, A Merry Bari Christmas was released on October 30, 2026. "This is an album that requires neither specialized knowledge nor any particular occasion to be appreciated. All it asks is that you let the music carry you along. And if the 2026 holiday season needs a soundtrack, Ryan Middagh’s album deserves a prominent place on the list." 23. Flying High, Still Soaring was released on March 12, 2026. "For the debut project from the nonprofit Jazz At The Ballroom label, Champian Fulton served as co-producer, musical director, pianist, and one of the six singers featured on Flying High, a set subtitled “Big Band Canaries Who Soared.” Considering its title, ironically this is not a big band album. Instead, the accompaniment is provided by Fulton and a rhythm section which also includes either Neal Miner or Mike Gurrola on bass and Fukushi Tainaka or Charles Ruggiero on drums. After the trio plays an instrumental version of “On The Sunny Side Of The Street,” there are two vocals apiece by Vanessa Perea, Olivia Chindamo, Jane Monheit, Carmen Bradford, and Gretje Angeli, plus four from Fulton. Since there are piano solos on nearly every number, this can be thought of as a Champian Fulton album with five guest singers. All but one song, the rock and roll ballad “You Belong To Me” which is sung by Angeli, are veteran standards with most dating from the swing era. All in all, Flying High is a fun set of excellent swing-oriented vocals with plenty of fine piano playing from Champian Fulton." You can read the rest of the review here...
