  3. Stream it and enjoy it too !
  4. LOL, most people don't consider Sonicaps a boutique cap. The silver mica caps are responsible for most of the difference in detail. The film caps Bose used back when the EQ was built were not that good. Certainly not compared to what we have today. I totally agree about the resistors. Two at the head of the audio signal were replaced with 1% metal film. I asked David several times to replace all the resistors but he said it would not be cost effective for the SQ difference. He was getting annoyed by my insistence. Shortly after I found a guy on AK that replaces all the resistors BUT I did not like some of his choices for other caps - some were non-audio caps. I am happy with the sound and the difference the EQ upgrade made. After all, they are NOT my reference speakers.
  5. David does very nice work. He is mostly into Bose and Polk repair and upgrades but works on most speakers. I sold my series VI 901s and went back to the series II. David did the EQs for both series. The work on the series II made a tremendous difference in detail and clarity in the treble. I'll post a before and after pic of the EQ. I use them as rear speakers in my HT system.
  6. I was finally able to find this article on phase angle. http://www.audioholics.com/loudspeaker-design/understanding-impedance-electrical-phase/page-2
  7. It's not just the impedance, but rather when you have a huge electrical phase angle COUPLED with an impedance dip. That's when stuff gets interesting. Look at any speaker test in Stereophile and they'll measure both impedance and phase angle. Across the full audio spectrum. In any of their tests, that data is usually presented as the first graph.
  8. Not every blues guy's guy but he can turn it on.
  9. Simply incredible album. My 9's are singin'
  10. That looks like a great line-up. Don't miss Quinn Sullivan. I saw him when he was 16 and his band was really good. He's probably 17 by now. He does some great covers as well as his own songs. I'd sure like to see Elvin Bishop. I'm seeing Ronnie again in October. His drummer of 15 years will be leaving the band in early August. Your show will probably his last with the Broadcasters. Enjoy.
  11. I saw Ronnie and the Broadcasters on the 25th. It was a good show. I bought his latest CD 'Father's Day'. I got the entire band to sign it AND because I was patient I was one of three who got to do a meet and greet with Ronnie. There was approx 20 people waiting for him to come and sign CDs and albums. Most got tired of waiting and left. It was a real honor to meet with him and talk Blues. He is not well - that's all I'll say.
