I'm still pretty new here and am looking for some help with which amps work well with SDA SRS 2's.  I have the blade/blade interconnect.  The amps are all in transit from the sellers and I should get some of them next week.

Do I need to test anything on the amps before hooking them up to speakers?  I have a fluke 87 for rudimentary diagnostics but I'm not an electrical engineer.

 Amps:
M1.0T with bridge mono switch - unmodified - should work fine per other posts I read
M4.0T - unmodified, not sure what the back looks like - not sure if it works with SDA circuitry
Parasound HCA-806A - originally I thought I could bi-amp the highs with 80wpc and then bridge the lows for 180wpc.  The speakers only have 1 pair of inputs so I am now thinking of just using the 4 channels bridged to two.  Does the amp still have common ground if I bridge channels?

Let me know your thoughts.  Thanks.

I've owned a TON of Polk speakers, including more than one pair of SDA's. If you have an M4.0t, I wouldn't even be concerned with bridging. Those speakers are easy to drive and the 4.0t will be more than enough power to bring out the best in the SRS's.

Ok, all setup.  I ave been doing some tests between the RTI12 and the SDA SRS2.  I like the sound much better from the SRS speakers.  THe RTI12 sound a bit shrill at higher volume levels where the SRS are much more smooth.

I also like the sound of the M4.0t (unmodified) over the M1.0t (unmodified) so far.

I'm wondering if I could retrofit or make bookshelf speakers from the SRS woofers and tweeters to make a much more WAF friendly setup.  I am going to end up moving them into a different room.

Polk did that for you already:

Thanks, i was looking at those but still thinking I would like something a little more modern looking. Also, I don't need SDA with a 9.2 channel source. I'm guessing surround sound or 5.1 was what killed SDA.

The bookshelf speakers on top are Aperion and supposed to be pretty good. They don't sound as smooth and full though at medium to high volume. They are front presence speakers for now. I might return them at the end of the free in home trial.

Anyway glad your liking them.

You might like a pair of Polk Monitor 5's or 7's. They have the same drivers but smaller cabinets and no SDA. There are quite a few variations on both but if you look you will be able to find the version with the same drivers as your version of SDA's.

No worries, I won't cut them up. I have been cruising ebay and craigslist for parts. Someone in LA is selling 4 sda speakers for $100 so thats possibly 8 mid woofers and 4 tweeters and cross overs.

I'll take a look at those. Someone is selling something similar locally with the 4 woofer center channel.
