RonW. 41 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 What would be a good musical sub match up for a M500t MKII, 4000t and a pair of Cornwall II's? The Corns have 15" woofers, set up on a 28' wide wall by 38' deep with a cathedral ceiling. Is the hook up in the second Main Outputs if using a powered sub? What would be a good recomondation? Thanks, RonW.

Daddyjt 9,612 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 What's your budget Ron? Are you looking at something new, or are you willing to do a little work on it? The sunfires are beasts, but they are not the lowest maintenance subs out there, and many of them have aging parts. This makes them a bit of a mine-field -- you could get lucky and get a great one, ore you could get one needing a lot of work (and they're NOT easy to work on). I'd go JL Audio or SVS. Both are at the top of the heap, in my opinion. SVS has models in the $450 range, JL is somewhat more at $1,200ish... I hear HSU is very good, but I've never had ears on one. I personally prefer sealed over ported for music... 3

jldeni 439 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Good choice to add a sub. My main system is using a pair of Cornwalls as well. I love the sound - especially from those horns, but even with the 15" drivers these cabs are only good down to about 27-30 hz. So, I added a Sunfire True Sub "Signature"(low end is 16 hz) and, after taking care of a couple regular maintenance issues that come with a 20+ yo amp, I couldn't believe what I was previously missing from the bottom end. 2
oldtexasdog 2,456 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 Like they all say a True Sunfire Sub. The maintiance is only a once a year thing that takes maybe a half an hour but with proper patience and shopping you can get one for around 400.00
BobSmi57 25 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 OTD, what maintenance do you do once a year that takes 1/2 hour? I have 2 Sunfire true sub signature models and haven't done anything to them--have used them 2-3 years. No problems with them.
BillWojo 542 Posted October 11, 2015 Posted October 11, 2015 I'm looking for a driver for my TrueSub MkIV. If anyone has a spare, let me know. BillWojo

If they start humming even when not playing it's time. If they don't-then don't worry about it. I tend to drive mine hard.
