SteveMKentucky 70 Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 In celebration of their anniversary, B&O is introducing their new speaker, the Beolab 90. I found this while surfing the Frankfuerter Allgemeine Zeitung website, so the actual article is in German. I'll see if I can find a translation. In the meantime, here's at least a picture of the speakers and a link to the article: http://www.faz.net/aktuell/technik-motor/audio-video/lautsprecher-beolab-90-der-traum-vom-raum-13850986.html 3
Nahash5150 10,685 Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I've always liked B&O - they've always been eccentric, so I can relate to that.
Ar9Jim 6,512 Posted November 17, 2015 Posted November 17, 2015 Eccentric and elegant. I remember seeing B&O in the local HI-FI shop in the 80s. They were always amazing at putting things in small clean packages. Ahead of their time, looking back.

chiroacademy 833 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 They always have the coolest designs. Have been a fan for years but I've never owned any of their products. I have to say those speakers make me drool.
Ar9Jim 6,512 Posted November 18, 2015 Posted November 18, 2015 I have to wonder how many they sell with the price tag they have..Probably be amazed.
dr_gallup 42 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I haven't see the insides of any of their current stuff, but the stuff I saw back in the 89's & 90's was all glitz and chrome on the outside and completely underwhelming on the inside. Way over priced, made Bose look good by comparison and they stuff their little boxes with total junk.
dcl 3,276 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Ever been to a B & O store? There was one nearby (one move ago) in a big mall. Eccentric is an apt description, in a curiously fascinating way. Like walking into an exhibit of gizmos from old sci-fi movies. Never did hear any music though, dialogues of staff & prospective buyers took precedence in the open design floor plan. Maybe loner_t can say more, l_t? Take along some ECM label music . And visit the Tesla store, too.
massastan 50 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I'll probably get one of these, first http://www.easternvoltageresearch.com/plasmaspeaker.html
chiroacademy 833 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I was in a B&O store this year and was very disappointed in the sound quality. I didn't see or hear the new speakers but everything else was over priced and sounded poor. I love their design and would love to hear their new high end speakers
