Most Excellent !

Wow, I saw that line in the second pic, and thought "Scratch?" then realized that was the reflection of a crack in the concrete floor..., what a shine.

"violently glorious" - perfect description.

I’ve been living with this sub for a couple of months now, and figured I would share my impressions thus far.

Full disclosure, my listening “room”(area?) is FAR from ideal, and as it happens, temporary. Thus, I have not used the mic or any of the setup tools/software to dial in the sub. I did set the servo circuit to maximum gain (the “music” setting, vs “movie”) - FWIW, the servo will always be on maximum, even when the sub is pressed into theater duty - accuracy above all else, and honestly, this beast has output (volume) for days - no need to sacrifice any accuracy for more output.

I realize that that the first words that come to mind as I try to describe this thing are painfully cliché (effortless, visceral, tight, etc). They are made all the more cliché because I used them to describe my DD12.  This thing really is in a whole different league. I hear bass in almost every recording that I never knew existed - I know, more cliché.

Victor Wooten’s “Show of Hands” is one of the best bass demo recordings you can own. Victor is the bassist for Belá Fleck, and a true master. Two tracks in particular - The Vision and A Show of Hands - are absolutely amazing. You can hear(feel) not only the string interacting with the pick-up, neck and frets, you can feel the impact of his thumb on the string. The Battlestar Galactica them off the reference disc is downright scary. Cone excursion on the DD18 is said to be 1.8” peak to peak. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but I assure you, standing over the sub and looking down at that excursion is spooky. And load. And present.  One of the more common things I now hear are random thumpings and bumpings in the studio right before the music starts on more than a few recordings.

I initially set the low pass at 40hz and the volume at 50 (out of 100). Ouch.  Volume now floats between 30-35.  I’ve actually upped the crossover to around 60hz. This is the first sub I’ve ever had where I’ve found a crossover point that high pleasing.

Other than the size committment, I can’t think of a negative thing to say about this sub. I’m in love. Now if I could find another to run in stereo...??

You need 4x, just for the Dolby Atmos/DTS-X 9.1.6 setup. No need to cheat yourself. ?

I think I might physically hurt myself with four of them?
