Question about a brand of speakers mentioned here at one time

I've searched and cannot seem to find the maker of some speakers that were mentioned here on the site at one point in time. They were hand made by a guy who built them to order... I think he had several stock models....they were finished in a gloss lacquer of various colors and had 2-3 12" drivers with midrange and tweeters and were in the $1000-$2000 range if I remember correctly. He built them to order and the reports on sound quality were quite good. I simply can't remember who he was or what the name of the company was.

   Any help here?

This sounds like the description of speakers that kve777  wrote about last fall.  I believe he was using them in his primary system at the time.

I don't think it was those...thank you guys. It was a single guy who was making them and he had possibly three different stock models available and in different gloss lacquer colors, but they were (if I remember correctly) in the $1000-$2,000) range.

I do recall at the time looking at the Tektons though in addition to the ones I'm now trying to find so it was in that time frame.

Unfortunately no. These were kind of "plain Jane" systems with one or two 12" main speakers and mid rage and tweeters in a tower type large box....rectangular with no fancy curves or anything like that. I believe they were about 4-5 ft tall with a simple gloss lacquer finish and he had about 3-4 standard models with different numbers of main drivers and he hand built each of them. They were also very reasonably priced....all of them under $2k per pair and many of them in the $1k range. He had excellent reviews and would take custom orders to build for anyone wanting different sets of drivers in them. Perhaps it wasn't here that I read about them, but it was about the time that Kevin was talking about his Tektons that I ran across them. It is a one man operation.
