A newbie to the group

Recommended Posts

I have an AVR-100 receiver and DTL-200 mk-II CD/SACD player, both with working remotes.

They're a part of my living room system which includes a B&O Beogram RX-2 turntable and Pioneer CS-R700 speakers, all purchased new.

I'd love to hear what your experience is with my Carver units, and what you think about my eclectic stereo system.

Welcome Clarence. It's good to have you here.

I have no experience with any of the gear you mentioned, but I'm sure someone does. Hopefully, they'll chime in. The only thing that really matters though is how it sounds to you. If you're happy with it, that's what matters. If you're not, most of us will be glad to help you spend your money. :D

Either way, welcome! I'm glad you found us.

Hi Clarence and welcome! I like the B&O turntable in your mix🙂. They made some cool looking equipment - I just finished repairing a B&O 2400 receiver for a friend and it was a very interesting project.

And while I only heard them briefly, I did get to listen to those Pioneer CS-R700 beasts. I had a friend who requested my help rebuilding/upgrading the crossovers. Those 12" woofers in the ported cabinets have some solid low end. That AVR-100 is a great receiver. I did a minor repair on one years ago and liked it. Good power output.

How do you have the CS-R700s positioned in your living room? Speaker placement in general living space is always a compromise.
