Bbracken 7 Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Just a brief note of introduction. Been something of an audiophile beginning in the 70’s. I have had a bucket list item I have finally completed: I finally bought a Carver power amp! First of 2 or 3, possibly. This one is a Carver M-400t Cube. I will be matching it up with my Frankenstein speakers… which is to say I have Klipsch horns, the woofers to go with them, and plans for an open baffle hybrid speaker. The horns will be “unboxed” and in the open (they sound fantastic unleashed!!) while the bass woofer (and possibly a sub-woofer also) will be in a 6 cubic ft sealed box. The plans for the box are still unfinished, as I plan on boosting the base over that which Klipsch settled for. As part of my solution will be 2 passive radiators in the box. Potentially 12” woofers (from Heresy 2) a pair of subwoofers and passive radiators. Likely all 4 vertical sides occupied with bass production lol Having a Carver unit is participating in my own history, sort of lol I am hugely excited by it all. 4

Bbracken 7 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago I haven’t built them yet, the hybrid open baffles. I have only assembled some parts to get an idea of the sound I can expect. The mock ups sounded amazing. I will certainly post pics of the finished product. I will likely also post some progress pics. 3

There's a forum for Speakers where you can start a new thread and brag on your project ..., and people will comment, answer questions, or otherwise keep you motivated! 😉
