I just found this site when I was looking for some info on my Carver PM 1.5 amps. I am looking for the manual for the amp as I seem to have misplaced mine sometime in the last few years. I have had most of the amps [i have 5] for at least 15+ years. I use them in sound reinforcement applications and they have been very reliable. I do have two of them that were damaged when I rented them out. I learned my lesson and do not do that anymore. My project this winter is to repair the two damaged amps and get them running again as I would like to put them back in service next spring. I am wondering if anyone knows about dating the porduction date of these amps by their serial numbers. I will post a request for the information. The most important thing that I discovered early on about the PM1.5 is that each amp needs a 15 amp circuit to run properly. I have a 240V single phase feeder panel that splits the power into 12 seperate 15 amp circuits. I do not use extension cables and plug them directly into the panel. I typically run them 45 hrs at a time and do not switch them off for that period. Although they are only being driven 50% of the time they are on, I leave them on overnight when they are not being used to keep any dampness or moisture from building up. I have used them for 15+ years this way and never had a problem with any of them. They have been simply awesome. Hope to get some help in repairing my damaged units from some of the techs here. I will post requests and specific information when I get the chance to open them up and inspect them. I have been a tech for 30 years and repaired lots of amplifiers, mostly tube amps. The old Fender guitar amps are so easy to repair. The power supply and the tight spacing of the PM 1.5 looks like it may provide a bit of a challenge but I'm sure they are repairable. Anyway I am happy to have found the site and look forward to coming back.   Greg

Greetings Everyone!!  Thank you for the responses to my post and the greetings from everyone. I posted a question about serial number identification for the PM 1.5's and hopefully will get some feedback from that post. This site is very informative and looks like it is going to be a great help to me. I had no idea Bob made so many different Carver amp models !! I will post some pics of the ones I have later this week.
